Over the years I have had the chance to work with some tremendously brilliant people and also had the unfortunate luck to meet and work with many pompous asses. "Well ya" you say, "the art world is full of them." Well this is true, you have to be your own advocate. But one thing I ve discovered is being a good/ big talker has nothing to do with being "good" at anything. Your work speaks for itself.
In fact to pretend you know, when you don't, is pure stupidity. An inflated ego, thinking you're the best at what you do, everyone wants to be involved in what you do, without a solid foundation is dumb.

And ultimately arrogance and ignorance are seriously debilitating in many ways. To think that something cant be true just because you don't know it... Or to have the hubris to believe you know all there is to know about something. is just ludicrous.
Any way I am sure you all know someone like this. they are out there.
Having had these experiences really makes me appreciate the truly kind and thoughtful people that I meet!!
I am glad to have met so many humble, creative and talented people who are a true joy to be in the presence of. These are the people who keep me going and really inspire me to be better.
excuse my rant.
Doppleganger Joe: out.
