the summer of the whale

Hello,

I thought I 'd share one of the projects I worked on this summer. I sculpted and cast an aluminum whale for a new Head start playground in Methum MA. They are all about the "Natural Play" movement and that makes them A OK in my book. The whale is designed for kids to interact with by climbing on and jumping off of and what not.
I am going to have some images shortly of the finished playground  and the whale installed, stay tuned.
here is a video of on of the pours

What a job! I used over 15000 pounds of sand for this one.

Thanks to Andres Institute for hosting me during this project.
